Colic  is the common name for the stomach and intestinal disorders, which are often very hard and painful for the horse. Quick noticing of first symptoms and immediately intervation of veterinarian doctor is crucial in the treatment of colic in horses. These symptoms may be very different, the degree of severity depends primarily on the root cause of the disease, but is also associated with an individual predisposition.
The complicated structure of the digestive system of the animals in itself predisposes to disease type. Due to the specific construction of stomach, horse does not have the physical capacity to return the contents of food.
The pain is usually caused by obstruction of the intestine. Intestinal obstruction can happen at every his section, and the gases, liquids, or mass food gathering before locked place swollen colon, causing pain.
Causes of colic is a lot of. The most common include: administration of spoiled animal feed, overfeeding, hypothermia, infections, infestations, stomach ulcers, inflammation of the stomach and small intestines, acute hepatitis, obstruction. For colic also may be affected by such surprising factors, such as weather, especially changing atmospheric pressure
Psyllomucil  composed with natural active ingredients, enzyme and probiotic complex, supporting the maintenance of normal function of the digestive tract. It is recommended for use on horses as an aid for indigestion and to stimulate gastrointestinal motility, in the course of constipation caused by the weakening of the peristaltic movements of the intestines, as well as an adjunct in flatulence and intestinal spines.
The enzyme complex (amylase, protease, cellulase) derived from a fermentation process, which will improve the solubility of the nutritional supplements the most resistant for the endogenous enzymes attack. Digestive enzymes of plant origin are derived from the fungus Aspergillus oryzae which:
    • complement deficiency of digestive enzymes
    • regulate the digestive system (brings positive results on various problems with digestion)
    • prevent flatulence and colics
    • alleviate the feeling of irritation
    • brings the  optimal ability of   digestive
    • indirectly increase the efficiency of the immune system
Lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus, whose job it is beneficial to health effects in the gastrointestinal tract, through immunomodulation and maintaining normal physiological flora. Lactobacillus plantarum is used for example in gastrointestinal inflammation and enterites. A characteristic feature of L. plantarum is the ability arginine catabolism with the production of nitric oxide, which inhibits the growth of other bacteria, regulates the secretion of mucus in the digestive tract, regulates blood circulation and stimulates peristalsis and intestinal immune system.
Psyllium (Plantago ovata) has a strong ability to create a stable gel, increasing its volume and capture among sand particles stuck in the intestines, as well as absorbing the excess intestinal fluids. Formed in this way  gel has a significant impetus to the intestinal wall restoring proper peristaltic movements and accelerate intestinal transit. This does not rubbing the intestinal wall, so use psyllium is especially recommended for sensitive intestines. In addition, psyllium  has a positive effect on the growth of good bacteria in the intestines and is a source of dietary fiber.
Spirulina is a rich source of complete protein and a set of 18 amino acids (approximately 60% by volume). There is also a rich natural source of easily absorbable iron, magnesium, selenium, potassium, B vitamins, and many other valuable micro-and macronutrients. Dyes contained in the algae – chlorophyll and fitocyjanina – support digestion, metabolism and body cleansing. In addition to these two main pigments spirulina contains a wide range of different forms of beta-carotene. Spirulina has a soothing effect on the stomach and helps detoxify the body which is important for horses treated with medication.
